Jeff Stanley is an American singer and composer and who has performed in the USA, Africa, Australia, Indonesia, Mexico, and Papua New Guinea. He was born in Ravenna, Ohio which is the party balloon capitol of the United States! At three his Family moved to East Africa which allowed him to experience eclectic music from an early age. He also learned the saying Haraka, Haraka, Haina Baraka which means in rushing there is no blessing. As a teenager he incorporated such styles as African pop, rock, jazz, blues, funk, ska, and reggae into his music.
He has participated in a wide range of events, including playing for Courtney Cox (“Friends”) wedding, auditioning for Limp Bizkit, performing at The Oakland Colesium, and making it to the finals (out of 4,000 guitarists) for the Red Hot Chili Peppers. He also was the lead guitarist for Eugene Cole and Persuaded on their first live recording for an audience of 1,200 on Eugene’s first album He Will Work It Out.
In Australia, Jeff sold out The Sydney Opera House, and was blessed to play at the Cockatoo Island Festival on the Sydney Harbour where Ernest Ranglin and The Wailers were featured! He received radio play for his single ‘Life Is Up’ and toured from Brisbane to Melbourne.
Along with performing, he did a lot of songwriting for international films and videos. He wrote and recorded the soundtrack for a New York film based on the tragedy at the World Trade Center, has produced music for a multitude of videos and documentaries whose clients have included the U.S. Agency for International Development and the Red Cross in East Africa and he recorded for television shows and commercials in Los Angeles as well. Jeff’s ability to adapt to a variety of genres of music made him highly employable as a session musician and as a result his guitar work appears on a large amount of albums around the world.
Jeff’s diverse creativity is evident throughout of his original albums. Three of them which are titled Salvation, Doorways and 32,000 Chances are online. His sense of humor, ability to improvise and Spiritual unbringing have inspired audiences internationally.
Recently, Jeff Stanley produced a new instrumental album – Lifeline - which is receiving radio play and is an enjoyable way to experience his interpretations of this life.
